Editorial Policy & Standards
Last updated: June 20, 2026
Future Green Tech publishes independent analysis of clean energy, batteries, electric transport, carbon technology, water and the circular economy. This page explains how we research, write, fact-check, correct and fund our work. It is the standard every article on this site is held to.
1. Independence
Our editorial content is never sold. Advertisers, sponsors and the companies we cover have no influence over our coverage, conclusions or ratings. We do not allow third parties to review articles before publication. Where a piece of content is sponsored or contains affiliate links, it is clearly labelled as such.
2. Expertise & authorship
Every article is written by a named member of our expert team — scientists, engineers and specialist journalists with relevant qualifications and hands-on domain experience. We publish author credentials openly so readers can judge the expertise behind each piece. Articles are not published anonymously or under fake bylines.
3. Research & sourcing
- We prioritise primary sources: peer-reviewed research, company filings, technical datasheets, government and intergovernmental data (e.g. IEA, IRENA, IPCC), and official announcements.
- We distinguish clearly between validated results, prototypes, projections and marketing claims.
- Key data points are linked to their source in a “Sources & further reading” section so readers can verify them.
- We avoid presenting cell-level laboratory figures as if they were validated, real-world product performance.
4. Fact-checking & review
Articles carry a “Fact-checked” badge when they have been reviewed against our sourcing standards. Technical pieces are reviewed by a second subject-matter expert on our team before or shortly after publication. Our Chief Energy Analyst acts as senior reviewer for battery and energy content.
5. Accuracy, updates & corrections
Technology moves quickly. We show a “Published” and “Updated” date on every article and refresh evergreen guides as new data becomes available. When we make a material error, we correct it transparently and note significant changes. See our corrections policy and how to report an error.
6. Use of AI
We use software tools, including AI assistants, to help with research, drafting support and editing. However, every published article is directed, edited and approved by a human expert who is accountable for its accuracy. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated content.
7. Funding & disclosure
Future Green Tech is funded by a combination of reader subscriptions, advertising, and clearly-labelled affiliate partnerships. Affiliate links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, and they never influence which products we recommend. Our reviews are based on independent assessment.
8. Not professional advice
Our content is educational and informational only. It is not financial, investment, legal, engineering or procurement advice. Always consult qualified professionals and official documentation before making decisions.
